SCREENWRITER TOM WAKEFIELD
Combine a love for Star
Trek, Star Wars and other outer space spectacles with four years in the Marine
Corps Infantry and you get Red Planet the screenplay by Tom Wakefield.Tom grew up with a love
for all things outer space, including TV shows, movies, science books,
telescopes and more. After high school he joined the military and served four
years in the Marine Corps Infantry as a TOW Gunner, the operator of an anti-tank
missile system. He served two tours in a MEUSOC (Marine Expeditionary Unit
Special Operations Capable) in the Western Pacific and traveled to lands such as
the Philippines, Korea, Thailand, and many other countries. His life experiences
came together in the screenplay Red Planet, which pits a futuristic squad of
Marines against a renegade Soviet colony on Mars.
Tom currently owns and
runs a couple of popular Websites, including

about all things military, and PostalMag.com, a website for employees of the
U.S. Postal Service.
